About

Welcome to my online portfolio! I’m Mary McFadden, an Irish writer and journalist. I have collected many of my published works here and my CV is available upon request.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any queries about anything I’ve written or (hopefully!) for any job opportunities that you think I may be suited for.

Other places I’ve been published:

The Arcade

I am the current deputy editor of The Arcade, Ireland’s largest geek entertainment website. I write about news items relevant to the Irish geek community as well as opinion pieces and film and TV reviews.

Vegan Éire

I’ve recently created an informational resource for Irish vegans called Vegan Éire. I am currently working on an accompanying eBook for vegan beginners and also a quarterly magazine.

Donegal Democrat

I had work experience for 1 month in July 2012 where I shadowed a court reporter. I wrote articles about court hearings in the town and also wrote a series of Leaving Certificate related stories.

The Circular

I wrote for this online magazine-site for over 8 months from September 2013 – May 2014. I completed a diverse range of articles including particularly popular ones such as Domestic Violence: Male Victims and The 5 Worst Reasons for Opposing Gay Marriage

Explore Dublin

This was a website chronicling the hole-in-the-wall areas of Dublin; places to eat, drink or sight-see, which was created by myself and a classmate of mine during the second year of college. We also had an Instagram page linked to the site and it was quite popular at the time with over 300 followers.
